The
Canadian International Peace Project is an independent, non-partisan
organization made up of organizations and individuals of diverse
backgrounds dedicated to promoting peace, development and security
locally, nationally and internationally.
The Project was launched in December, 2001, in response to the tragic
events of September, 2001 and the resulting consequences in our
communities. It became patently clear that there was a great need
for credible, meaningful and non-partisan Canadian leadership on
issues of peace security and development locally, nationally and
internationally.
Canadians are expected to provide leadership on global issues as
a result of our unique composition as a country and our special
status in the international community. The Canadian International
Peace Project provides credible and critical leadership on issues
as the organization deals with issues employing holistic and inclusive
approaches.
Notwithstanding that our organization was launched in December,
2001, it has already attracted unprecedented attention because of
our approach to issues, our philosophy and our accomplishments to
date. Already we have been able to provide not only critical education,
but tangible assistance and support to the Christian, Muslim, Jewish,
Hindu and other communities.
This Project has created an unprecedented opportunity for Canadians
and others around the world to contribute to peace and development
locally, nationally and internationally. To date, this initiative
appears to be the most novel, innovative and holistic approach.
The CIPP appears to be the most innovative and effective vehicle
currently in Canada that is directed not only to promoting greater
education, understanding and harmony among a wide range of racial,
ethnic, religious, linguistic and cultural communities but also
effective and meaningful partnerships among a wide range of individuals,
groups and organizations.
We invite you to visit the other pages of our website to learn more
about the organization.
We hope that you will support our important work.
