CIPP's Mark Persaud , moderates roundtable on anti racism and equity in the workplace with The Hon. Jean Pierre Blackburn, Federal Minister of Labour and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec


 
Mark Persaud, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian International Peace Project was the Moderator of a Roundtable on anti-racism and equity in the workplace held at the Ministers' Regional Office in Toronto on Tuesday, August 14th, 2007. The event was well attended by a diverse representation of community leaders and non-governmental organizations. CIPP's, Director of Communication, Ahmed Hussen, also attended in his capacity as the National President of the Canadian Somali Congress. Minister Blackburn talked about a number of inititiatives in his Department and the participants raised and discussed a number of issues including workplace discrimination, foreign credentials accreditation;  and lack of opportunities and systemic barriers in the federal government for young Canadians from visible minority heritage.
